Flying as a Bird–Writing 201, Ode for Day 5

The assignment for Day 5 of  Writing 201, is to write an Ode, a celebratory, laudatory poem.  The prompt theme is ‘Map’, suggesting places or pathways, real or imaginary. The place I chose is a picture of birds in flight; I have had this picture with me since I was a teenager, getting ready to go to university.

                        Soaring,
                         Weightless,
                          Powerful wings,
                           Lift me aloft,
                           Guide me through vast skies.
                            Cool breezes brush my feathers,
                           In the wind I glide,
                           free of obstacles,
                           and cares,
                          Nothing disturbs
                          my flight,
                         I am free.

    1. Thank you. It was a lucky discovery after the words were down. By sliding do you mean the screen? It does that on my phone because the preformatted text is rigid (that’s my theory anyway) so the whole bird won’t fit on the screen.
