Serpent wings rise
lethal teeth grin —
a dragon invitation
∼
There is a close relationship between danger, fear, courage, and opportunity. I can’t say I’ve mastered the balance, but I ‘know’ there is a time to listen to fear signals and a time to proceed into danger with courage. I enjoy these quotes on the topic:
Dangers bring fears, and fears more dangers bring.
∼ Richard Baxter, English clergyman, 1615-1691
When written in Chinese, the word ‘crisis’ is composed of two characters. One represents danger and the other represents opportunity.
∼ John F. Kennedy
Thank you to Ronovan of RonovanWrites and his guest prompter, Miss E, for this week’s haiku challenge words: ‘dragon’ and ‘invite’.
The quotes are sourced from BrainyQuote.com. I wrote the haiku. ©2016 all rights reserved by Ontheland.wordpress.com.
Interesting about the Chinese script!

I did wonder abit about JFK’s source especially since he didn’t identify the actual language but I like the thought.

This reminds me of Susan Jeffers book, ‘Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway’.

Love the haiku although I don’t think I will take that invite. 😉 I liked what you said about knowing when to listen to your gut feelings and when to face fear in the face. Many don’t have that ability. The quotes are great, especially the first. 🙂 xx
